The 2023 winner of Best Burger in the Rockford area is in a popular east Rockford shopping center and has only been around since December 2017.

Here are the three best burger restaurants in the Rockford area selected by Rockford Register Star readers for the 2023 What Rocks Community's Choice Awards.

Winner: Baker Street Burgers

When owners Randy and Betsy Baker opened their business, they did so with a promise to serve the "best burgers in Rockford." They did not disappoint. The restaurant goes beyond lettuce and tomato topped burgers. Baker Street Burgers serves "elevated" burgers, 1/4-pounders topped with items like cheese, fried egg, fried onion strings and thick bacon. Baker Street also has a full bar serving craft cocktails, craft beer and an extensive whiskey selection.
